Why 350G CDW steel tubing?
350G CDW Tube is subjected to the Drawn Over Mandrel (DOM) process after manufacturing which strengthens it through cold working. What you end up with is a lightweight & affordable product that’s designed to be fully compliant to Confederation of Australian Motor Sports (C.A.M.S) & Cross Country Drivers Association (C.C.D.A) regulations. As any racer knows a roll bar or cage is crucial to offer protection to the driver in the case of an accident but even more importantly it tightens up the whole vehicle and creates less roll and twist, for better handling.
We stock the tube in two sizes:

FAQ
CDW steel, or Cold Drawn Welded steel, refers to steel pipes that are produced by drawing the metal to the required length without any joint in their cross-section. This process results in a seamless tube with enhanced strength and a smooth surface finish, suitable for high-precision applications that require close dimensional tolerances.
CDW, or Cold Drawn Welded steel, is produced by expelling metal to the required length without any joint in its cross-section, providing a seamless tube that is used in applications demanding close dimensional tolerances and a smooth surface finish.
Yes, CDW steel tubes are commonly utilised in the automotive sector due to their low carbon content, flexibility, and excellent finish after undergoing processes like annealing, straightening, and pickling.
Yes, when used in roll cages, CDW steel tubes can tighten up the vehicle’s structure, resulting in less roll and twist and thereby improving the handling characteristics.
CDW steel is not only suitable for bending due to its flexibility but also maintains durability, especially if it undergoes a heat treatment like annealing, which can further enhance its toughness.
